Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir held a multi-sector situation assessment today (Thursday), during which he heard an overview of the various security threats and the preparedness required from the IDF in the near future.

During the discussion, the Chief of Staff referred to the readiness of the forces: "Many challenges lie ahead. We are promoting combat procedures in all arenas from Iran, Lebanon to Gaza and are on high alert in the face of multi-scene explosiveness.".

Against the backdrop of the security escalation in Judea and Samaria and the approaching holiday period, the Chief of Staff ordered immediate operational steps in the field: "In light of the tensions in Judea and Samaria and the approaching holiday period, I am directing the raising of the alert level of an additional regular division headquarters to reinforce the SDAK in the sector. Beyond that, preparations must be made for the immediate activation of units and battalions to reinforce the area.".

Zamir emphasized the clear operational policy that will apply to all units in the near future: "The IDF, with all its elements, will be on full, multi-scene alert during the holiday period - there will be no lulls and no operational slowdown.".

Alongside operational preparedness, the Chief of Staff also addressed discussions on the defense budget, warning of the consequences of a shortage of resources: "Unfortunately, these days we are also in a campaign over the budget. At a time when the IDF and its servants are stretched in all sectors - we must deal with an 'empty coffers'. Such a situation harms the IDF's readiness.".

He clarified the army command's priorities: "We are concerned with protecting the security of the State of Israel - this is the only consideration before us. We will not be dragged into issues that may divert our focus and readiness.".

Doron Kadosh, the military correspondent for Galei Tzahal, wrote: "Extremely unusual - the Chief of Staff is directing the raising of the alert level of an additional regular division headquarters for Judea and Samaria, in addition to the two divisions already commanding the sector (the Judea and Samaria Division and the Gilad Division on the Jordanian border).

""This is an unusual event that I don't remember in recent years. A division commander preparing to take responsibility for a sector in Judea and Samaria, not even during the major waves of attacks of recent years.".

[1

post-1062684","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-1
