The section will be written in a question-and-answer format, and will provide answers to questions on various topics related to life in Israel and the Jewish world, on both the practical and conceptual levels.

Among the topics that will be discussed in the section: the gaps and tensions between Haredi thought and that of religious Zionism, the relationship between Kabbalah and Halacha, between mysticism and rationalism, and between tradition and morality, and faith and loyalty. Ben Haim holds a doctorate in Jewish philosophy, is a certified historian, and researches ultra-Orthodox society and Mizrahi traditionalism.

He previously served as a commentator on Haredi affairs on Channel 13 and wrote a column in the newspaper 'Ma'ariv.' He is currently a member of the 'Patriots' panel on Channel 14.

Ben Haim: "With good omen and success - I am joining a newspaper that has been holding the most serious and profound conversation in the Hebrew press for years about Judaism, Israeliness, society and politics. I thank the newspaper's editors for their trust, I have missed the written press and its special charisma so much.".

The first section, which is expected to be published next week, will include, among other things, a reference to the question of whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should take responsibility for the events of the October Shiva.

Journalist, commentator and researcher of Israeli society Dr. Avishai Ben Haim has joined the Makor Rishon editorial team.
