According to a report this evening (Thursday) by Amit Segal on Channel 12, a heated confrontation was recorded in the meeting over the recent statements of Moshe Redman, who is in ninth place on the party's list for the Knesset. The confrontation took place after Redman sent a message of condolences to the family of the terrorist who carried out the attack in Samaria, in which Major Yuval Ezra and Benyahu Melat were murdered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, Omri Ronen, who was elected seventh on the list, slammed Bradman: "What kind of behavior is this? There is campaign discipline. You have to know how to work with the campaigners. Get in, the primaries are over.". <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that Redman's conduct is harming the party's efforts ahead of the elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MK Naama Lazimi also warned of its electoral consequences. "We will drop to single digits if this continues," she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Party Chairman Yair Golan admitted that a mistake was made in the conduct surrounding the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a report on the Ynet website, Gabi Lasky, who came in sixth place, remarked to Yair Golan about his use of the term "Judea and Samaria", and demanded that he say "the West Bank". <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Golan responded that he "denies that 'Judea and Samaria' is a right-wing concept.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also reported that representatives of the Arab sector on the list, Soumya Bashir and Aed Badir, criticized Golan's initial response to the attack. According to them, the tweet in which he defined the event as an attack and not as "friction between settlers and Palestinians" provoked criticism in the Arab sector, and was perceived as a right-wing message by some members of the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier today, Yisrael Beytenu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman addressed the possibility of cooperation with the Democrats and told his party leadership: "Yair Golan and his friends are not the optimal partners, to put it mildly, but it is what it is.". <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he emphasized: "What must not happen is that they will hold the security portfolio and the justice portfolio. These are two portfolios that they will not be able to hold.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
