Today, Degel HaTorah marks one year since its withdrawal from the government and the coalition, following the instruction of the great leaders of Israel - against the backdrop of the crisis surrounding the status of yeshiva students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exactly one year after returning to full parliamentary activity in the Mishkan, it turns out that the chairman of the United Torah Judaism faction, MK Uri Maklev, is the record holder in attendance in the Knesset this past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An examination of official attendance data for the period between July 14, 2025, and July 13, 2026 shows that Maklev was in the Knesset building for 2,193 hours and 23 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This amounts to more than 42 hours of attendance on average each week, including the recess weeks and the periods in which the Knesset operates in a reduced format.

Maklev is in first place, with a gap of more than 224 hours from second place, where MK Meirav Cohen of Mish Atid is with 1,969 hours and 21 minutes. In third place is MK Yinon Azulai of Shas with 1,789 hours and 18 minutes, followed by the chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Simcha Rotman, with 1,774 hours and 54 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The time point chosen for the examination was intended to accurately reflect Maklev's parliamentary activity. Until Degel Hatorah's resignation from the government, Maklev served as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Transportation and the Prime Minister's Office, and a significant portion of his public activity took place in government offices and not in the Knesset building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resignation came against the backdrop of the ongoing crisis surrounding the status of yeshiva students, the failure to advance the promised settlement, and the continued steps against the Torah world. Following the instruction of the great men of Israel, the representatives of Degel Hatorah resigned from their positions in the government, and Maklab returned to serve as a full member of Knesset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since his return to the Mishkan, the center has been engaged in extensive parliamentary activity. In addition to participating in plenary and committee debates, promoting legislation, and handling public inquiries, he serves as chairman of the United Torah Judaism faction and manages the faction's activities with the coalition management, government ministries, and heads of Knesset committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this framework, Maklev coordinates the faction's positions on issues on the agenda, manages negotiations around votes and legislation, works to remove barriers with government ministries, and leads the faction's parliamentary conduct during a sensitive period of tension with the coalition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the period under review, he also made 142 appearances in Knesset committees. However, the striking figure is the overall scope of attendance, especially given the fact that Makelev does not head a standing committee, a position that usually requires long hours in the Knesset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The data places Maklev not only at the top of the ultra-Orthodox Knesset, but in first place among all Knesset members.
