Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke this evening (Thursday) at the graduation ceremony of the Air Force's 192nd Flight Course - and addressed the security threats in the regional arena, the campaign against Iran, and the importance of preserving Israel's air superiority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Netanyahu said: "The skies of the Middle East have known unprecedented activity in the past year - and especially the two successful operations we launched against Iran. If we had not acted, Iran would have armed itself with nuclear weapons. The Iranian terrorist regime has suffered a very severe blow - and our policy is clear: with or without an agreement - Iran will not have nuclear weapons.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He then referred to regional developments: "The war is not over yet. Alongside the old challenges - new challenges are emerging. Axis powers rise and axis powers fall - we give our opinion on this, prepared for any scenario. We must always be stronger than our enemies.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He alluded to the sale of F-35 aircraft to Erdogan, saying: "Preserving Israel's air superiority is a fundamental pillar of national security and key to maintaining stability in the Middle East.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Netanyahu's remarks were seen as a reference to recent regional developments, primarily the strengthening of Turkey. Against this backdrop, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to maintain Israel's air superiority, saying that it must be "stronger than its enemies.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Defense Minister Israel Katz referred to the possibility of renewing the campaign against Iran, the continuation of IDF activity in various arenas, and the missions awaiting course graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his opening remarks, Katz mentioned his speech at the pilot course graduation ceremony last year. "Exactly a year ago at the end of pilot course 190, I said that the pilot course graduation ceremony here is a direct message to dictator Khamenei and the group of ayatollahs in Iran and that Israel's long arm will catch up with you in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan and wherever you try to threaten and harm Israel.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He continued: "About four months ago, we returned to operating in the skies of Iran, we eliminated many of the regime's senior officials - and in the historic opening blow of Operation 'Rage of Hari', we eliminated Khamenei Sr. and severely wounded Khamenei Sr.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katz added: "Today, too, I would like to open my remarks with a message to the Iranian regime and all those who seek our harm: The State of Israel today is stronger, more determined, and more powerful.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Defense Minister emphasized that Israel is prepared for the possibility of renewed fighting. "The IDF is alert and ready to renew the campaign, to achieve renewed air superiority and to launch a blue-and-white attack on Iran to eliminate threats - also for the third time. If we have to return - we will return and with even greater force.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He stated: "The IDF is currently in the security zones in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria and will not withdraw from them. It is our right and duty to protect the residents of the Galilee and the citizens of Israel against jihadist enemies who seek to destroy the State of Israel.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Katz also addressed the commemoration of the fallen IDF soldiers: "All of our achievements on the battlefield, in the political arena, and in the struggle for the security and future of the State of Israel were achieved thanks to the courage, heroism, and sacrifice of IDF fighters and members of the security establishment, and thanks to the fallen generations, who gave their lives for the revival of the Jewish people in their land and for the defense of the State of Israel. It is of great importance to perpetuate the memory of the fallen and to mention them and talk about them.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, "In thousands of years, our people will remember the Israeli fighters who fell in defense of the homeland, their heroism, their spirit, and the price they paid to ensure the existence, security, and future of the State of Israel.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
