President Donald Trump addressed the escalation with Iran today (Wednesday) during the NATO summit in Turkey, saying that the United States carried out a large-scale attack overnight - and declared: "As far as I'm concerned, the memorandum of understanding with Iran is dead.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump said: "I don't want to do business with them. They are liars, cheaters, sick people - make a deal with them and they come out and do the opposite.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump added: "We hit the Iranians hard tonight - 20 times harder than before. Something is wrong with their heads, they are scum. I hate them, nobody likes them, I'll let the negotiating team talk to them, but we're basically wasting time. They're just shooting at ships. They shouldn't be allowed to get nuclear weapons. I don't think they know what they're doing, but they're evil, a cancer that needs to be cut out. They won't succeed, otherwise they would have made a deal a long time ago.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump added that Iran has targeted him for years. "They want to eliminate the leader of the United States - me. I was number one on their list for years. We need to eliminate the cancer early. That's how I feel.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of his remarks, he also referred to the damage done to the regime's leadership, saying: "We eliminated their first line of leadership, as well as their second. They are evil and sick people, they need to be uprooted, like a cancer.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized: "My people want to continue talking to them, but as far as I'm concerned, it's over. They're liars. It's a waste of time.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The United States' strikes against Iranian targets last night were 4-5 times more extensive than other attacks carried out after the memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A senior American official said that since the ceasefire, Iran has recovered or repaired hundreds of missiles and launchers that were damaged or buried in American strikes, and the Iranians now have access to more than half of the missiles and launchers they had before the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The United States was surprised by Iran's attacks on commercial ships in the midst of ongoing negotiations and the funeral of former Supreme Leader Khamenei. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Iranian army claimed that it attacked the gathering centers of American forces at the Sheikh Issa base in Bahrain early this morning, and warned: "All American bases in the region are legitimate targets.". <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Iranian military statement, the attack was in response to "repeated violations of the ceasefire by the United States.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the "blatant violation of the interim agreement signed with Washington. The violation of Iranian arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz and the continued Israeli attacks in Lebanon render the interim agreement ineffective, and we reiterate our call on countries in the region not to allow the US to attack Iran from their territory.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
