United Torah Judaism Chairman, MK Yitzhak Goldknopf, today (Monday) held a working tour of the West Kiryat Gat complex - one of the significant plans promoted during his tenure as Minister of Construction and Housing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the tour, he received a professional overview of the progress of the development work, closely monitored the pace of execution, and met with the project management and the professional entities accompanying the establishment of the neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tour was attended by representatives of the 'Arim' company, the West Kiryat Gat directorate, and the professional teams, who presented the development progress and the updated schedules. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the review presented, within about 28 months, the neighborhood is expected to begin being populated, with the first families moving into their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
West Kiryat Gat is one of the largest housing programs promoted in recent years for the ultra-Orthodox community. The neighborhood is expected to include approximately 7,500 housing units, with approximately 501,000 of them being marketed under the "Target Price" program, alongside educational institutions, synagogues, public buildings, commercial spaces and community infrastructure that will be built in parallel with the construction of the housing units. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The neighborhood's location, near major transportation routes and employment centers, is expected to make it one of the most sought-after residential centers in the south of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his tenure as Minister of Construction and Housing, MK Goldknopf worked to restore the neighborhood's designation to the Haredi public, to remove planning barriers, and to accelerate the project's advancement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
About a year and a half ago, he even participated in the ceremony to begin the development work, and now he has returned to the field to closely monitor the progress of the work and the implementation of the plans that were promoted during his tenure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the tour, MK Goldknopf said: "One of the most significant tasks I set for myself upon entering the Ministry of Construction and Housing was to return West Kiryat Gat to the Haredi public. When we arrived at the ministry, we turned over every stone to promote this place and implement the plan. I am happy to see that the vision is becoming a reality.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added: "About a year and a half ago, we stood here at the ceremony to begin the development work. Today, we can already see the tractors working all over the area. Within about 28 months, the first families will move in here. This is about 7,500 housing units, with about half of them being marketed as part of a 'target price', at prices that will enable thousands of young couples and families to purchase an apartment.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of the tour, Goldknopf thanked the West Kiryat Gat administration teams, the 'Arim' company, and all the professional entities supporting the project, and said that increasing the housing supply by promoting new neighborhoods is the way to deal with the housing shortage and enable more and more families to have their own apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The West Kiryat Gat project joins a series of large-scale housing moves that were promoted during Goldknopf's tenure as Minister of Construction and Housing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
