The 'Wall' directorate at the Ministry of Defense's Anti-Aircraft Defense Division, together with Rafael, successfully completed a series of tests of the 'Iron Dome' system against a variety of advanced threats, while implementing operational lessons learned during the war and operations against Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the series, a number of upgrades were tested that were introduced into the system, to add and improve coping with scenarios that simulate existing and future threats, including coping with rockets, cruise missiles, and UAVs - and technological upgrades were also incorporated that contribute to coping with rates and ranges of fire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, as part of the operational absorption process of the powerful 'Or Eitan' laser system, developed by the R&D unit at the Israel Defense Forces as a complementary system to the 'Iron Dome' system, joint operating scenarios from the 'Iron Dome' command and control complex were also practiced during the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new capabilities proven in the experiment constitute a significant step in the capabilities to deal with a variety of attack scenarios and are another pillar of the Ministry of Defense's strategy to improve readiness for a decade of security challenges and maintain the IDF's qualitative and strategic advantage in defense and attack in future systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Iron Dome system, which was delivered to the Air Force and declared operational in 2011, is a significant component of the State of Israel's air defense and missile defense capabilities.
