After the panel of judges in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's trial announced today (year) that its position from June 2023 has not changed - and once again recommended to the State Attorney's Office to consider dropping the bribery charge in Case 4000 - the political establishment is reacting sharply to the prosecution's conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar wrote on his X account: "After hearing the entire prosecution case and also the Prime Minister's testimony in full - the judges reiterate their recommendation to the prosecution to drop the bribery charge against Prime Minister Netanyahu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\""This absurd trial has been going on for six and a half (!) years and has caused serious damage to the State of Israel. I called for it to end as soon as possible, more than three years ago, as a member of the opposition, after the judges recommended the same recommendation to the prosecution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\""The prosecution closed its ears, just as it also refused the mediation process proposed by the court. At this stage, the prosecution's continued digging in its refusal to delete the bribery section would be a disgrace, just like the continuation of this trial.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MK Moshe Saada also sharply attacked the prosecution following the judges' announcement: "Time and again the court doubts the existence of evidence of bribery, and now it states in black and white that there is no evidence, but the prosecution refuses to reexamine its position," he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, "Instead of striving to investigate the truth, the 'criminals in the service of the law' continue their campaign of persecution and their attempt to thwart and intercept a sitting prime minister whom they are unable to defeat at the ballot box.". <\/p>\n\n\n\n
