The Histadrut and employers signed an agreement today (Monday) to increase convalescence benefits. This is a benefit that could reach hundreds of shekels per employee on an annual basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the agreement, in the private sector the rate will be updated from 418 shekels to 451.5 shekels per day, and in the public sector the quota will be updated to 511.6 shekels per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to estimates, between two and three million workers in the economy may benefit from the increase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The update came after two years of freezing rates and reducing the convalescence day following the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David: "After two years in which the workers in Israel bore the burden and took part in the national effort during the war, the time has come to give back to them. The agreement we signed with the business sector presidency will allow workers to benefit from an update in the rate of convalescence fees in accordance with the increase in the index and the cost of living. This is significant news for millions of workers in the economy, which will help ease even a little the expenses of households.
