Minister Bezalel Smotrich refused pleas from Netanyahu and his people to support the law and made it clear that as long as the Haredim oppose the conscription law, "religious Zionism is not on the agenda.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Religious Zionist Party clarifies: "While some of the Haredi parties are politically flirting with the left bloc and at the same time opposing any serious draft outline, it is impossible to demand that Religious Zionism be the Torah sucker. It is not possible for them to torpedo the draft law and simultaneously demand the dormitory law and additional benefits. The public that serves in the reserves, fights and pays the price is no longer willing to accept this reality.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Degel Hatorah chairman, MK Moshe Gafni, attacked religious Zionism: "This is a law that was taken for granted in the Knesset for years, to assist women who go out to work and to make it easier for them with their wages and employment conditions. The hatred against the Haredi public is driving them crazy and also harming the working and weak public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Torah Judaism faction chairman, MK Uri Maklev: "The Likud's difficulty in garnering a majority for something as elementary and humane as daycare for babies who have not sinned - proves that there is truly no bloc. The fact that an entire party in the coalition - Religious Zionism - boycotted the vote and even tried to thwart the law, alongside their opposition to the law regulating the status of Torah students, proves that the Likud's claims that they can muster a majority for laws that are important to us are not true.".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
