According to the IDF spokesman's announcement, upon the discovery of the suspicions, the former MAG was immediately suspended, and now, given the seriousness of the acts and suspicions and the length of the criminal proceedings, it has been decided to dismiss her without further delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The IDF noted that regarding the rank of Major General Tomer Yerushalmi, the Chief of Staff believes that a reduction in rank should be considered after the completion of the investigation of the facts in the criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also reported that Tomer Yerushalmi will not be entitled to the "completion of the period of service" component.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The IDF clarifies that this is an unusual and unprecedented move, not only from a command perspective but also from a personal and financial perspective. The former MAG was placed on unpaid leave, her salary was reduced in accordance with the law, and it has now been decided that she will not receive the retirement terms accepted for senior IDF officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kan News reported that, according to army sources, she will not be given a retirement year, a benefits package, or the rights customary for those retiring at the rank of major general.
