The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment with the Jerusalem District Court this morning (Friday) against Moshe Lachovits, 21, from Jerusalem, for having contact with an Iranian foreign agent and carrying out a series of tasks for him in exchange for payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the indictment, filed through attorney Yishai Zigman, in May 2025, Lakhovitz made contact with a man who introduced himself as "Michael" after looking for a job at the Telegram group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the conversations between the two, he was asked to send a photo of his ID, open a digital wallet to receive payments, and download dedicated photography applications - including an app that allows documentation even when the phone screen is off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later, at the agent's request, he purchased another phone that served as an "operational phone," with the two agreeing to use identification codes at the beginning of each call, while demanding complete discretion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At an early stage, Lachovits began to perform documentation tasks: among other things, he photographed the Bell Garden in Jerusalem, traveled to Ra'anana and documented a route that was given to him in advance, walked around the streets of Jerusalem while taking selfies, documented the Mamilla Mall, and performed additional actions such as purchasing various products - a hat, chocolate, and a can of paint - while fully documenting them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also appears that the agent asked him to purchase covert photographic equipment, including a hat with a camera, glasses, and a disguised pen, but these purchases did not materialize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the period, and even after realizing that this was an entity acting on behalf of Iran, Lakhovitz continued to be in contact and carried out additional missions - including documentation in the Morasha Junction area - also during Operation 'Am Kalavi'.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In exchange for his actions, Lakhovitz received cumulative amounts of thousands of dollars in digital currencies, with some of the payments detailed in the indictment - hundreds of dollars for each task, and a total of about $3,000 or more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also appears that Lakhovitz was driving a vehicle without a driver's license, among other things when he traveled to Ra'anana to carry out one of the missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At some point, he decided to cut off contact with the agent, partly after he made anti-Semitic remarks. The defendant shared the connection with his sister, gave her the operational phone number, and deleted its contents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the agent later tried to renew contact with him and even contacted his sister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
