Judea and Samaria Border Guard agents arrested a wanted operative in the Fatah terrorist organization suspected of promoting terrorist activity against security forces in Kfar Kalil last night (Wednesday).
A Palestinian report claims that the detainee is a senior member of the Palestinian Preventive Security Mechanism, whose rank is equivalent to that of a lieutenant colonel.
The police did not name the detainee, but said that the operation was carried out under the direction of the General Security Service in the village of Kalil in the Samaria Brigade sector.
According to the statement, "Jerusalem Border Guard agents arrested last night, at the direction of the Shin Bet, in the village of Kalil, a wanted operative in the Fatah terrorist organization, who was suspected of promoting terrorist activity against the security forces.".
According to the statement, the undercover agents entered the village in a chaotic manner and arrived at the compound where the wanted person was staying. The forces surrounded the building and activated a "pressure cooker" procedure - at the end of which the wanted person exited the building and surrendered himself to the fighters.
After his arrest, he was transferred for further treatment and investigation to the General Security Service.
