A tunnel in the excavation stages, which reaches a depth of at least 25 meters, was uncovered by the Samaria Crime Fighting Unit in the Sha'ar District and Judea and Samaria Border Guard soldiers.
Weapons were located and seized at the scene. Four suspects were detained for questioning.
According to a police statement this evening (Wednesday), as part of a precise intelligence and offensive activity, police and Border Guard soldiers conducted a targeted search in the city of Qalqilya - during which a tunnel was located whose excavation has not yet been completed, and which is already at least 25 meters deep at this stage.
The forces also revealed the beginning of digging another tunnel.
In a search conducted, an M16 weapon, a sniper rifle, ammunition, cartridges, telephones, fertilizer - a material used to make explosives, and a DVR device were located and seized.
