Stabbing in the heart of Borough Park: A young man armed with a knife was taken into custody after stabbing a teenager in a synagogue

A terrifying scene unfolded Monday night in the heart of the Borough Park neighborhood: a 22-year-old man, emotionally disturbed, stabbed A 14-year-old boy in a serious stabbing incident that occurred inside the 'Kedushat Yosef Verdan' synagogue.

The incident occurred at the synagogue, located on 54th Street near 16th Avenue, at 7:20 p.m. According to the report on the Yeshiva World website, after the boy was stabbed in the hand, the suspect barricaded himself inside the synagogue - which led police, the "Guards" and "Rescue" forces to the scene.

The suspect, known in the area as someone who frequently frequents synagogues in the neighborhood, was arrested by the police without resistance and taken for questioning.

Borough Park Rescue personnel treated the boy who was stabbed at the scene, as he refused to be taken to the hospital, and his condition was described as stable.

The New York Police Department and Borough Park Rangers remained at the scene while authorities investigated the circumstances of the incident.
