The security establishment is increasing its grip on southern Lebanon, following the elimination of terrorists and the destruction of Hezbollah's terror tunnels in the Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon.

The IDF is currently operationally preparing to enforce control over the ridge, with the aim of preventing any party from attempting to reestablish a military hold on it.

Defense Minister Israel Katz addressed preparations in southern Lebanon this evening (Sunday) and said: "After eliminating the terrorists and destroying Hezbollah's terror tunnels in the Ali Taher Ridge, the IDF is operationally preparing to control the ridge and prevent any attempt by Hezbollah or any other entity to return and establish itself there.".

The minister emphasized: "Anyone who approaches the Ali Taher ridge will be destroyed.".

Minister Katz defined the boundaries of the zone and the policy being pursued in the area: "The Ali Taher Ridge is part of the Yellow Line and Israel's security zone in Lebanon, which includes 700 square kilometers from the coast in the west and through the Beaufort Fortress and the Hermon area in the east, and as Prime Minister Netanyahu and I have made clear many times: We are not moving from the security zone - and the IDF will not withdraw or redeploy until Hezbollah disarms in all of Lebanon.".

He presented the planned operational response for the continuation of the activity in southern Lebanon: "The IDF will continue to operate vigorously in the security zone and thwart terrorists and terror infrastructures below and above the ground and remove any threat to our forces - from anywhere.".
