The Likud Party announced this evening (Sunday) that it will submit to the Central Elections Committee requests to disqualify the Joint List and Ra'am from running in the elections.
Political commentator Amit Segal noted that "the goal is of course to embarrass Eisenkot, Bennett and Lieberman.".
The Likud statement said: "The Likud will submit disqualification requests for the Joint List and Ra'am to run. There is no place in the Israeli Knesset for those who harm IDF soldiers and are unable to say that Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations.".
""These supporters of terror are Gadi Eisenkot's natural partners, with whom he wants to form a government together with Yair Golan and Lieberman. This must not be allowed to happen.".
Last week, the Otzma Yehudit party submitted a request to the Central Elections Committee to disqualify Ra'am and party chairman MK Mansour Abbas from running in the elections.
The request claims that RAAM denies the existence of Israel as a Jewish state and supports an armed struggle by enemy states and terrorist organizations against it.
