The Central Unit (CMD) of the Coastal District, in cooperation with the Northern CMD of the Investigating Military Police, is conducting an investigation into a serious case - on suspicion of trafficking in military weapons.
As part of the investigation and at the end of joint investigative and operational activity, three suspects were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the affair - including a soldier serving at a military base in the north of the country.
The three were transferred for questioning, and in accordance with the needs of the investigation and its findings, the two citizens were brought before the Haifa Magistrate's Court today with a request to extend their detention.
The soldier was brought to a detention hearing before the military court, and his detention was extended until next Wednesday for interrogation purposes.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the findings will be submitted to the Attorney General's Office for review.
