MK Uri Maklev of the Torah Banner responded today (Tuesday) for the first time to his removal from the party's list.
Yated Ne'eman published this morning that "Shlucha Rabbin Rabbi Uri Maklev will continue, with the blessing of the Marnan and the Rabbin, to work for the public and to serve as a member of the national senior management of Degel HaTorah.".
Maklev said: "After the decision was made, I would like to address you, dear public! To thank you for the privilege given to me by divine help to serve the entire public and to stand by your side throughout the years. I was honored to accept this mission and tried to carry it out with faith and honesty. I did my best to be attentive to the general and private needs of the entire public, to act for the holy places of Israel and in public systems.
""In recent years, I have also been privileged to initiate and establish the 'Urdu Authority', which was welcomed and operates with great success in diverse and vital activities in 57 local authorities. Along the way, you have returned feedback, strength, and appreciation to me, in a special and fruitful collaboration, for which I am grateful.".
""Every day I felt the mission anew, as if I had started it today. The mission was not as heavy on my last day as it was on my first. I have the desire and willingness to continue serving and doing everything I can for the public, wherever I am, as much as I can.".
