""Dear friends, representatives of Degel Hatorah, at every site
Hello,
About 38 years ago, I was called to the flag by the Maran Rosh Yeshiva, the Gramm Shach, to serve as a representative in the Knesset on behalf of the "Degel HaTorah Movement.".
I was privileged, G-d, to work alongside and in the light of the great rabbis and rabbis of Israel, may God bless them and grant them peace. I always worked in their light, under their guidance, and with their full understanding on every issue and matter. We walked together, heel to toe, on the path that the greats of our generation outlined and paved for us, without deviating from it in the slightest. My heart is at peace with the mission that I have been privileged to fulfill in all areas in recent decades.
I have been privileged to assist all segments of the public in Israel and in all areas of life and to carry the banner of Haredi Judaism in the Knesset, in speeches, laws, motions of order, questions, discussions in the plenary and in committees, to act for the public and the individual, and to fight the war of Torah and the Haredi public every day and in every period and its challenges against anti-Haredi discrimination, in order to preserve Judaism in the public character of the state as instructed by the rabbis and rabbis.
I remember that after I was elected to the Knesset, Maran Ram'am Shach called me and told me, among other things, that "businessmen come to me and tell me about large budgets they achieved in their activities and I don't understand it, but I understand when a widow comes with two children who are about to be evicted from the only apartment they have and you make sure to keep them in their apartment, I understand that." I have assigned my assistants over the years to answer every request from the public.
The heart of my mission was to preserve the 'pure oil pan' – Haredi education in all its branches: in protecting its independence and outlook, and in developing systems.
I thank God for the privilege that has fallen to my lot over the decades to personally and individually assist thousands of applicants to institutions from among the public and to assist in times of difficulty in leading historic steps for the benefit of the yeshiva world, and in all areas of life, and that God will not fail us in our duties and that no blasphemy will be committed under our hands.
We are in the midst of an unprecedented period. The High Court of Justice and legal advice systems have declared war on the Haredi public and its way of life. In the face of the decrees that have struck us in every area, and in the face of the harm to the status of yeshiva students, we have fought with all our might. We have done this at the behest and instruction of our rabbis and rabbis – step by step, in one accord with them, and without reservation.
Towards the end of my term as a member of Knesset I thank God for giving me strength, and for the great privilege of decades of public service in the Knesset for the benefit of all and individuals. Deep gratitude to the Rabbis and Rabbis for the complete trust they placed in me and the privilege of acting under their direction, and my gratitude goes to the general public for the great trust they placed in me at every step of the way..
I would like to take advantage of the following lines to address you, dear representatives of the Torah Flag throughout the country. Also down the road, as I continue to serve as the chairman of the movement, the responsibility falls on me together with you and we will continue to act together. You are the flag bearer and the spearhead of the entire Haredi public in the field of public activity. You act faithfully and accompany educational and Torah institutions, and provide a response in your regions to all the local and personal needs of all segments of the public as faithful representatives. You have the right to continue your mission in every place and place, and the duty to proudly carry out your important role with honesty and loyalty to pure halacha and the knowledge of the Torah. I am certain that "All who deal with public needs in faith, the Blessed One will pay their wages.".
I would like to bless and thank all those who have addressed and congratulated me, and to wish you and all your family members and the entire House of Israel a happy new year. A year in which we will merit the salvation of God, raise the ray of Torah and the light of the world, and be privileged to see the coming of the Redeemer of Justice soon in our days.
