Minister May Golan today (Monday) rejected the report that Otzma Yehudit decided not to grant her a seat on the party list.

According to her, there were no contacts between the parties, and it was Ben Gvir who approached her and offered her a realistic place on the list for the 26th Knesset - an offer she refused.

""Contrary to false publications and briefings, no contacts took place between the parties: Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, on his own initiative, approached Minister May Golan and offered her a realistic place on the Otzma Yehudit list for the 26th Knesset - and the minister refused his offer," her representative said.

The statement also said: "The minister repeatedly made it clear to Minister Ben-Gvir that she greatly appreciates and loves him, but the path of the Likud movement was and remains its own. This, despite the false briefings that were issued against her on the eve of the primaries with the intention of harming her.".

""Minister May Golan sees herself as committed to the approximately 19,000 free Likud members who voted for her, despite the deals and hit lists that were launched against her. She will continue to give them expression from every platform, to fight for the path and future of the national camp, and to work towards establishing a true right-wing government.".

Minister May Golan added: "After 15 consecutive years of non-stop public activity day and night - including 7 years in the Knesset, while also being a minister leading tremendous struggles - I feel that this is the right time for me to take a break for myself. And to all the amazing people of the national camp who shower me with love without ceasing, I would like to convey: Remember - everything, but everything for the better! The people of Israel live.".
