Fighters from the YAM - the State of Israel's national counter-terrorism unit, operated last night (Sunday) under intelligence guidance from the General Security Service and in cooperation with IDF forces - in an extensive operation to thwart a Hamas terror infrastructure in the village of Aqaba in the northern Jordan Valley.
During the operation, the YAM fighters and IDF forces arrested 10 Hamas terrorists, who were working to promote terrorist plots and organize a terrorist organization in the village.
During scans conducted by the IDF fighters at one of the locations, a rocket without a launcher was located.
After being interrogated by IDF forces, one of the arrested terrorists revealed a location where weapons were disposed of, including M16 weapons and numerous explosives intended for the manufacture of explosives.
The rocket, the weapons, and the explosives were handled and destroyed on the ground by Judea and Samaria Border Guard saboteurs.
