In a speech he gave at the 'Decision Time: Democracy and Society' conference, Defense Minister Israel Katz outlined the intelligence situation and explained that the economic isolation and increasing friction with the regime in Tehran could lead it to choose the path of an open military confrontation with Israel.
The Defense Minister pointed out the Iranians' preferred timing: "They like to attack on Jewish holidays, because they are Jew-haters. Pay attention to many things that happened in the past.".
At the same time, the minister reassured and said that the security establishment had prepared in advance for all scenarios. "We are prepared for defense and attack in coordination with the United States.".
