The management of the Airports Authority, the workers' committee, and the Histadrut issued a joint statement at noon (Tuesday), according to which understandings were reached on "setting out on a common path" - which will prevent another strike during the expected rush at Ben Gurion Airport during the month of Tishrei.

According to the announcement, "Following a joint meeting held by the chairman of the Histadrut, the chairman of the council and the CEO of the Airports Authority, representatives of the workers' committee and the wage supervisor at the Treasury, the parties concluded, out of public responsibility, partnership and commitment to the continuation of the Airports Authority's proper and continuous operations.".

""The parties agreed to look ahead, with the understanding that the right way to deal with the challenges facing the Authority is through dialogue, cooperation, and building consensus. The officials expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the employees to work during the war during alarms and missiles.".

According to the decision, "Ahead of the Tishrei holiday period and the expected congestion at Ben Gurion Airport, the Authority's management, employees, and the Histadrut will act jointly and responsibly to ensure the functional and operational continuity of the airport and the best service to the traveling public.".

""At the same time, the Authority will work to accelerate the recruitment of the required personnel in accordance with the Authority's planned recruitment plan.".

The announcement further stated that "it was agreed to accelerate and deepen the joint dialogue regarding the future of the Airports Authority and its adaptation to the challenges and opportunities of the coming years. Within this framework, steps will be jointly examined that will allow the Authority to continue to develop, become more efficient, and provide high-quality and advanced service to the public.".

""The Chairman of the Histadrut, the Chairman of the Council, the CEO of the Airports Authority and the workers' committee emphasized that the parties have a common goal: a strong, stable and progressive Airports Authority, which fulfills its essential role for the State of Israel and its citizens.".

""The parties see the conclusions reached as a basis for opening a new page of partnership, trust and respectful dialogue, and undertake to act together, in dialogue and agreement, for the benefit of the Authority's employees, the traveling public and the State of Israel.".

During September and the Tishrei holidays, more than 3 million passengers are expected to pass through the Airports Authority's facilities - of which about 2.5 million are at Ben Gurion Airport.

The Israel Airports Authority is increasing its manpower and is preparing especially for four peak days, which are forecast to be September 10, 17, 22, and 25, and on each of them, approximately 100,000 passengers on approximately 600 flights are expected to pass through the airport.

The heaviest traffic is expected on September 10, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, when more than 100,000 passengers on international flights are expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport.
