Watch the documentary: “The courier robbers were caught red-handed” - Central District police arrested the members of the gang minutes after they committed another robbery. After an investigation, the three defendants were accused of four violent robberies of couriers in Lod and Ramla.

Police at the Lod police station have launched an investigation and established a special investigation team following a violent robbery that occurred in the city on July 23, during which several masked men attacked a courier, smashed the window of his vehicle - and robbed him of money and property.

As part of the investigation, and after using a variety of investigative tools and methods, the police were able to identify a pattern of action that recurred in several robberies of couriers in Lod and Ramla - and to track down the members of the cell.

In a covert operation against the suspects, the police were able to arrest them "red-handed" on August 7, minutes after they committed another robbery.

The three members of the cell - two cousins in their 20s, residents of Ramla and Lod, and a resident of Jaffa, were arrested and interrogated at the Lod police station.

Their detention was extended from time to time, and during the investigation, the station's investigators managed to establish an evidentiary foundation against them for four robberies of couriers that were carried out over the past two months in Lod and Ramla.

According to the facts of the indictment filed by the Central District Attorney's Office to the Lod District Court, the three defendants conspired to commit robberies of couriers and divide the loot among themselves.

As part of the scheme, the defendant ordered deliveries from various businesses, using false names and addresses other than hers, and updated the two other defendants on the location and date of the couriers' arrival.

Upon their arrival, according to the indictment, the two men, masked and armed with, among other things, pepper spray, ambushed them, attacked them, and robbed them of their shipments, money, and property.

The indictment attributes four robbery incidents to the three, during which couriers were attacked, injured, their vehicles damaged, and money and property worth tens of thousands of shekels were stolen.

Among the offenses attributed to the defendants: armed robbery in a group in a single act, aggravated assault in a single act, and burglary of a vehicle in a single act.
