Israel Fire and Rescue Commissioner Rabbi Eyal Caspi signed an order this morning (Tuesday) prohibiting the lighting of fires in open areas, due to extreme conditions that increase the likelihood of fires occurring.
The order is valid from Tuesday, September 1, 26, until Tuesday, September 15, 26, at midnight.
The fire ban order applies to all of Israel, except for the area south of Highways 25 and 34 (Yad Mordechai Highway, Nahal Oz to the Arava Junction), and it prohibits lighting fires in open areas.
Carrying out technical work that creates combustion or fire will take place in accordance with the provisions of the order.
Lighting a fire inside a designated facility for preparing or heating food, such as a barbecue, is permitted.
