Singer and network star Yagel Oshri launched a new app designed to help him consistently put on tefillin every morning.
Oshri said that after October 7, he took it upon himself to make sure to put on tefillin every morning, but discovered that his smartphone, pop-up notifications, and busy work routine were overwhelming him.
""What actually happens is that I wake up in the morning, go straight to Instagram, TikTok, phones and work. I go to meetings and suddenly it's already six or seven in the evening and I haven't had time.".
Oshri's solution is simple and could help many others in his situation: an app called 'First Tefillin, Then the World,' which locks notifications and access to the various applications on the phone.
When the user tries to open any application, the message appears on the screen: "Wearing tefillin today?" or "Wearing tefillin tzaddik?".
At this point, you can choose between the "I have already put on tefillin" button or a 15-minute reminder delay - at the end of which the phone will lock again.
Oshri said that since he started using the app, he never forgets to put on tefillin.
