
Over the weekend, observers from the "Mabat 2000" control center identified an incident of animal abuse in the Lions Gate area - Bab al-Huta Street, in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Upon receiving the incident, David Area police officers and Jerusalem Border Police soldiers began operations to locate the suspect with the assistance of 'Mabt 2000' surveillance cameras. During the operation, a 15-year-old boy, a resident of the area, was identified as the suspect who hit and kicked a kitten.
He was arrested by the police and taken for questioning in the David area.
At the end of his interrogation, the suspect was brought before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, which ordered his release to house arrest.
The investigation file was transferred to the Israel Police Prosecution Unit for review, for the purpose of examining the continuation of the proceedings and the exhaustion of justice.
