End discrimination: After a discussion between all relevant parties, understandings were reached last night between the Lod Municipality, the education network management, and the students' parents.

In accordance with the understandings, the two students who were at the center of the discussions were accepted this morning (Sunday) to the 'new seminar' in the Ganei Ayalon neighborhood in Lod - and it opened.

The understandings were reached in cooperation between the Mayor of Lod, Attorney Yair Revivo, his deputy and Education Commissioner Benny Sitalkil, the neighborhood rabbi, Rabbi Avraham Broida, and the management of the 'Bonat Yosef' network.

The Lod Municipality clarifies that admissions procedures are conducted in secondary educational institutions and that refusals may also occur, but every decision must be made on a professional and business-like basis and without extraneous considerations.

To examine individual cases related to the seminar, a professional and independent committee will be established, which will operate sensitively and while protecting the privacy of the students and their families.

It was also stated that "the Lod Municipality is committed to working to find an educational solution for every boy and girl in the city, while ensuring a regulated, professional and equitable process.".

At the center of the struggle were 5 female students who were not accepted into the seminary. 3 of them were accepted into the Sephardic seminary. The two Sephardic students - who were the focus of the struggle - were accepted into the 'new seminary' after pressure from the municipality, and today the seminary reopened, as mentioned.
