
A 60-year-old man was injured this morning (Sunday) in a violent incident on Bnei Dan Street in the city of Beit Shemesh.
According to the suspicion, a suspect - a 48-year-old resident of Beit Shemesh - attacked another resident with a sharp object, resulting in the victim being seriously injured and being taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Officers from the local police station quickly arrived at the scene of the incident, began investigative actions and rapid searches, and within a short time arrested the suspect in the attack.
The suspect was taken to the police station for questioning. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
Based on the findings of the investigation, the suspect will be brought to court for a hearing on extending his detention.
Mandy Goldberg and Shlomi Peretz, United Hatzalah paramedics, said: "We were told at the scene that he was injured in a violent incident and suffered penetrating injuries to his body. We provided him with medical treatment that included stopping the bleeding and applying bandages, and then he was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in serious condition.".
