The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure updated today (Sunday) fuel prices for September: At midnight between Monday and Tuesday, the price of a liter of 95 octane gasoline at self-service stations will be updated - and it will increase to 8.25 NIS per liter.
This is an increase of 16 cents from the previous update. The surcharge for full service will be 26 cents per liter, an increase of 1 cent from the previous update.
Director of the Fuel and Gas Administration at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Batsheva Abuhatsira, said: "A number of factors influenced the price increase this month. One of the factors is the increase in the price of gasoline on the international market, which increased by approximately 6%. This increase was partially offset by a decrease of approximately 3% in the dollar exchange rate.".
She said, "Overall, the changes in the international gasoline price and the dollar exchange rate resulted in an increase of about 10 agorot per liter. In addition, the Tax Authority updated the excise component in accordance with the index, which caused an additional increase of about 5 agorot per liter. In addition, a semi-annual update was carried out and the marketing margin increased by one agorot. All of these changes resulted in an overall increase of 16 agorot per liter in September," she explained.
Last month, between July and August, fuel prices jumped by 61 cents per liter - and the maximum price of a liter of 95-octane gasoline in self-service was updated to 8.09 NIS per liter, to which 25 cents per liter will be added in full-service.
Now, as mentioned, there will be an additional 16 cents increase.
