Roadblock in the Writers' Neighborhood on Shabbat Eve: Before the start of Shabbat, trucks arrived with containers - which were placed on the bridge leading to the neighborhood, to prevent traffic to and from it.

This is the new neighborhood of Bnei Brak where secular residents also live.

According to a report in Haaretz, a resident of the neighborhood said that a truck driver who unloaded the containers said he was sent on behalf of the municipality. After a few hours, a police volunteer cleared the containers from the road, but roadblocks remained on the road.

The truck driver who placed them was summoned for questioning on suspicion of endangering a traffic route. He claims he performed the work for the Bnei Brak municipality.

During the riots on Saturday night in the neighborhood, the Shabbat watchmen of the Hatzalah organization were called to 600 Street, following a report of a car accident - and provided medical treatment to a 3-year-old girl with injuries to her body, who was evacuated in stable condition for further treatment at Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva.

Hatzala Shabbat dispatcher Dudi Goldberg: "When I arrived at the scene of the traffic accident with my MDA ambulance, I found a pedestrian, a 3-year-old girl, suffering from injuries to her body after being hit by a vehicle during the Shabbat protests that took place there. We provided her with initial medical treatment, and evacuated her in stable condition for further treatment at Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva.""

The Writers' Compound neighborhood in Bnei Brak is a neighborhood that was established as part of the 'Price for a Resident' project, and is home to both Haredim and secular residents.

Recently, friction has begun among neighborhood residents over travel on Saturdays. Last week, ultra-Orthodox residents placed a fence on the road, but the police removed the blockade, stating that it was an illegal move.

The Bnei Brak municipality issued an official statement this evening (Saturday night) stating: "The Writers' Complex is a neighborhood whose overwhelming majority consists of Sabbath-observant residents, who wish to preserve the neighborhood's character on Sabbaths and Jewish holidays. To this end, the municipal traffic committee approved the closure of the Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Leib Bridge on Sabbath, along with leaving entry and exit open through the Design Center complex, which provides a solution for residents.".

The municipality added: "It is very unfortunate to see that there are elements who do not respect the arrangements, violate municipal law, try to start a fire and create unnecessary provocations in the area.

""This wild behavior crosses red lines and exacts a heavy price: Last Saturday, a neighborhood resident, an MDA medic and a brother by profession, was brutally attacked by an outlaw using a Swedish wrench and required stitches in his head, while this Saturday, a girl was injured in an accident due to wild driving and carelessness in the neighborhood.

""The municipality calls on all residents of the neighborhood to act responsibly: to strictly observe municipal law, to adhere to existing arrangements, to protect human life, to respect each other and to live as good neighbors. We will not allow anyone to turn the neighborhood into an arena that endangers the lives of residents and their children.".
