Lod Mayor, Attorney Yair Revivo, announced today (Friday) the closure of the 'New Seminary' in the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood of Ganei Ayalon - following the institution's management's refusal to accept three female students, contrary to a commitment to the municipality.
Revivo announced: "I am forced to order the closure of the gates of the institution, which opened only yesterday while stealing the municipality's opinion.".
""This is at a time when my deputy and education portfolio holder, Benny Sitalkhil, is giving his life for the educational institutions and seminaries in the city and is working tirelessly to assist them. Instead of showing a favor to the municipality, which provides the institution with a structure and resources, the management chose to renege on its commitment and discriminate against the city's girls.".

The mayor declared that "the seminary will reopen only after accepting students and preventing the shedding of the blood of pure girls.".
The shtetl learned that two of the students had already been accepted following the seminary's closure - and now the municipality's pressure is being directed at arranging for the last student.
