The chairman of the 'Amach Yisrael' party, Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter, today (Thursday) attacked the leader of the left-wing 'Yashar' party, Gadi Eisenkot, following his opposition to construction in the E1 area - between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim.

Winter: "I heard that Gadi opposes building in Judea and Samaria because 'the world won't like it.'".

""Listen, Gadi, if we had been considerate of the world, the State of Israel would not have been established. If we had been considerate of the world, we would not have liberated Jerusalem in '67. The world has always wanted to stop us, but throughout history, when Israel stood its ground - in the end, the world aligned itself.".

""This must be the case in Judea and Samaria, which is the cradle of our homeland, and this will also be the case with immigration from Gaza.".

He emphasized: "These elections are about one question - who will dictate Israel's security concept for the coming years."
"Gadi Eisenkot and the countries of the world - or 'Your people Israel'.".

In an interview with Danny Zaken in the Israel Hayom newspaper, Eisenkot said that "anyone who thinks about a two-state solution after October 7 is simply delusional," and emphasized that Palestinian terrorism against Israel is "deep-rooted and deep.".

However, when asked about advancing construction in the E1 area, between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim, he replied that in his opinion the move should not be promoted at this time. "Not now. This is a mistake that is costing us an international price," he said.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich responded to Eisenkot: "The construction I am leading in the E1 area is the destruction of the dream of establishing a terrorist state near Jerusalem. Those who oppose construction in E1 support the establishment of a Palestinian state.".
