National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir launched a sharp attack this morning (Thursday) against media sources - following reports of surveillance and exposure of the location of Yair Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's son.

Ben Gvir tweeted on his X Network account: "This morning I sympathize with Yair Netanyahu. The persecution of some obsessive journalists, who prefer another headline over the safety and lives of threatened people, knows no bounds.

""The publication about a 'journalist', who revealed places where the prime minister's son stayed and spent time during the war, in my opinion exceeds any proper journalistic standard - and should be condemned by both the right and the left.".

The minister shared the media coverage he himself experienced under similar security circumstances. "I know this phenomenon intimately. During the war, when my family and I were evacuated to a hotel by the Shin Bet due to fear of being killed, journalists approached my spokesman with similar questions: Why is Minister Ben Gvir in a hotel during a time of war?""

The minister emphasized: "And this is at a time when I am one of the most threatened personalities in Israel, after about 10 assassination attempts at home and abroad, among other things due to the tough policy I lead in prisons, in demolishing illegal structures, and in the resolute line I present against the enemy even in the cabinet rooms.".

""My spokesman tried to explain to them over and over again: This is not a vacation or a pastime. This is a decision by security officials due to a real fear of being eliminated. But apparently this explanation is less interesting when the target is the headline.".

The minister called for setting clear boundaries for journalistic work. "Criticism - yes. Risking human lives in the name of persecution and obsession - absolutely not.".
