Thousands of worshippers entered the Joseph's Tomb complex in Nablus tonight (Wednesday), during the month of Mercy and Atonement, for a special prayer ahead of Rosh Hashanah.

The entrance was organized by the Samaria Regional Council, with the assistance of volunteers from the Administration of Joseph's Tomb and the Holy Places near the council, and accompanied by IDF forces and the Samaria Brigade.

Among the thousands of worshippers who entered Joseph's Tomb tonight was a large group of Samaritan women. The women offered a prayer for a good year, for security among the people of Israel, and for the peace of IDF soldiers.

Samaria Council Head Yossi Dagan: "In the days before Rosh Hashanah, thousands come to Joseph the Righteous and prove that the connection of the Jewish people to the place is alive, deep and eternal. Joseph's Tomb is a holy place for the Jewish people and access to it must not be limited to nightly visits only. We thank the IDF soldiers and all those involved in the work, and we will continue to work until we return to Joseph's Tomb in a full and permanent manner, with a yeshiva and the Israeli flag flying there.".
