The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment today (Wednesday) with the Central District Court in Lod against Ahmed Al-Ragov, 24, from Ramla, for the intentional murder under aggravated circumstances of the late Attorney Arbel Feldman for financial motives.

The indictment also charges him with the offenses of carrying weapons and ammunition, destroying evidence, and obstructing justice.

The indictment filed by Attorney Sarah Tal of the Central District Attorney's Office indicates that Attorney Arbel represented Ahmed in various civil proceedings against the insurance company following a car accident he had - and he was not satisfied with the pace of progress of the lawsuit in the amount of approximately 18,000 NIS that Attorney Feldman filed on his behalf.

Against this background, Ahmed decided to murder Attorney Feldman. For this purpose, he equipped himself with a semi-automatic pistol loaded with a cartridge.

On August 4, at noon, Ahmed arrived at Attorney Feldman's office in the heart of Rishon LeZion with a gun hidden in his clothes, and shot him six times at close range in his upper body, head, and hand.

Attorney Feldman died at the scene from his injuries.

Immediately afterwards, the defendant descended the stairs of the building, ran to his car and drove away. On the way, he stole his cell phone and gun - in order to disrupt the proceedings.

About two hours later, he turned himself in at the Ashdod police station and said that he murdered Attorney Feldman for financial reasons.

According to a report in Kan News, when he turned himself in, he told investigators that he would hand over the gun he used to kill Feldman. However, since the beginning of his interrogation, he has refused to direct them to where the weapon is located, and has not cooperated. The police estimated that the reason for this is that the gun he used was used in other crimes he committed and could incriminate him.

The prosecution is asking the court to order his continued detention until the end of the legal proceedings against him, as his unrestrained behavior indicates his cruelty and that the fear of the law does not apply to him.

Attorney Sarah Tal noted in the arrest request that harming a lawyer acting within the framework of the law as his client's representative constitutes crossing a red line and a mortal harm to the person, his family, and the public interest in preventing any harm to lawyers who do their job faithfully, without fear of harm to their lives.
