Unusual incident: An employee of a Mizrahi Bank in Tel Aviv was stabbed by a customer - and was evacuated in moderate condition

Dangerous work? A 45-year-old Mizrahi Tefahot Bank employee was stabbed today (Wednesday) by a customer at a branch on Shlomo Street in Tel Aviv - and was taken to Wolfson Hospital in Holon in moderate condition.

Police were called to the scene and arrested a 67-year-old suspect, who they said was mentally unstable. 

The employee serves as a manager of the business banking department.

The police said: "Police officers from the Jaffa station and forensic identification personnel are continuing their investigative activities at the scene of the stabbing at the bank on Salma Street in Jaffa. The suspect in the stabbing, 67 years old, was arrested by the police and is being taken for questioning at the police station.".

Noa Ben Tal, a paramedic with United Hatzalah who arrived first at the scene, said: "We were informed at the scene that she was injured as a result of violence. We provided her with initial medical aid and then she was evacuated for further treatment at Wolfson Hospital. Her condition is currently classified as moderate.".
