Rescue forces were called on Saturday night to the home of Rabbi Yerachmiel Birnitzweig, rabbi of the HaMadad and head of the kollelim named after the righteous Rabbi Mendel in Bnei Brak, after he felt unwell.
The paramedics who arrived at the scene provided initial medical care to the 88-year-old head of the kollel, and after he collapsed during the tests at his home, the paramedics performed CPR on him.
After, by the grace of God, his pulse returned, he was taken to Mayanei Hayeshua Hospital for further treatment.
Rescue Shabbat dispatcher Haim Leibowitz and paramedic Moshe David Rosenfeld: "We were called following a report of an 88-year-old man who felt unwell, and during the examinations the patient collapsed and lost consciousness before our eyes.
""We immediately began advanced CPR, which included massages, breathing, and connecting the rescue defibrillator. After, by the grace of God, his pulse returned, he was taken to the hospital's shock room for further treatment.""
The public is asked to pray for Rabbi Yerachmiel ben Tama Rika Tamara for a complete recovery.
