Yisrael Beytenu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman called today (Friday) on the opposition parties to adopt a joint strategy ahead of the elections, which he said would make it possible to replace the government.
In a post he published on his X account, he addressed those parties and emphasized: "The demand that we declare that the leader of the largest party will be prime minister is a serious mistake.".
Lieberman wrote: "In order for the Servants' Bloc, the State-Zionist Bloc, to win the upcoming elections, the four main opposition parties must adhere to one clear strategy and realize that the key to victory is transferring 5-6 seats from the evading bloc to the Servants' Bloc, and not an intra-bloc struggle and 'stealing seats' between the parties themselves.".
In the long post, he particularly emphasized one principle: "Preventing any attempt to cause conflict between the future partners in the coalition - I pledge that there will be no delegations or alliances within the bloc against each other, and political cannibalism within the bloc must not be allowed.".
""The demand that all opposition parties now declare that the leader of the largest party will be their candidate for prime minister is a serious mistake that stems from a lack of political experience.".
He explained: "In the last elections, 'Yesh Atid' reached an incredible achievement of 24 seats - but we all sat in the opposition and ate grit and bitterness with all the residents of the country. This must not happen again. We must allow each party to maximize its electoral potential.".
""Those who support Bennett and Lapid want to see Bennett as prime minister and those who support Yisrael Beiteinu want to see me as prime minister. If Bennett announces support for Eisenkot, he will immediately lose 3-4 seats, and if I do so, Yisrael Beiteinu will lose at least 2 seats. Only a few of these votes will go to Eisenkot, and the vast majority will go to Netanyahu's bloc or not come to vote. This will be a small gain for Eisenkot and a big loss for the entire bloc.".
""Therefore, we must all run to the end and present our candidacy for prime minister.".
