Sheikh Muhammad al-Fu'ani, an exiled Shiite cleric who is fighting Hezbollah, gave an interview today (Thursday) to the program "In Our Neighborhood" with Roy Kays on "Kan News" - and harshly criticized the terrorist organization.

""This organization has brought destruction to Lebanon and made us the object of hatred and disgust," said the sheikh.

According to him, "Hezbollah claims to be religious and preaches modesty and morality, but its interior is not pure. Therefore, as long as its people do not keep their word, they are not speaking the truth.".

He added: "The Iranians brainwashed the 'mustazafin' (the weakened) with the lie of 'Velayt al-Faqih' (the absolute rule of the religious sage) and turned them into victims. They made them fight and kill and their dreams were shattered. Now those whose children were killed hold a grudge against Hezbollah.".

In response to the question of whether the organization would agree to disarm or whether this was a pipe dream, he said: "No, these are not dreams. Pay attention to what happened to them in Syria - they fled from there.".

Al-Fu'ani further claims: "Hezbollah knows that when the time comes, the people will turn on it and hold a trial for it. If all countries act against it simultaneously, it will collapse as it collapsed in Syria within 72 hours.".

The sheikh conveyed a conciliatory message to Israel: "From our perspective, you are the 'People of the Book' and originally there is no enmity between us and you. Know that the Shiites are not part of the terrorist organization, and that the Israeli public should tell its government: 'We want good relations with the Lebanese people, and it is your responsibility to make this happen.'".
