Minister May Golan responded this afternoon (Tuesday) to the results of the Likud primaries and her exclusion from the party's list for the next Knesset.
In a tweet she posted on the social network X, the minister referred to her final position on the Knesset list and the fact that despite broad support from thousands of functionaries, she finds herself in an unrealistic place.
Golan pointed an accusing finger at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's entourage.
Golan wrote: "Despite the false spin that was spread the day before the primaries, despite the elimination lists of those who did not want a right-wing and opinionated woman in the party, and those 'instructors on behalf of the Prime Minister' - whose actions I will detail later - who decided that Mai Golan was 'too right-wing' and could interfere with the future plans they are designating for the government and its leader, despite all this - you were with me. A huge audience of true right-wing people.".
The minister referred to the mechanism that led to her decline, and explained the consequences of the reservations made by the movement's chairman: "Following thousands of inquiries that come to me from a dear public that is not concerned with the technical details and does not understand what happened, it is important for me to explain: The Prime Minister's numerous reservations have reduced the national list, leaving only 17 realistic places for over 40 ministers, Knesset members and new candidates, so that in practice, in a very unusual way, my arrival at the honorable 23rd place with over 19,000 voters has been pushed down to 40th place.".
She stated: "None of this will undermine the tremendous and factual expression of trust that I receive from you, the vast audience that, as soon as the results are known, calls me and writes to me constantly and never ceases to move me. Thank you for giving me the strength to continue to represent you faithfully with our voice of truth.".
