Rom Breslavsky approached National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir with a personal request - to personally press the button to execute terrorists by hanging, as part of the death penalty for terrorists law passed by the Otzma Yehudit party.
Ben Gvir said that he would act on the issue and also referred to changing conditions in prisons.
Breslavsky asked Minister Ben Gvir when he interviewed him on his personal podcast: "I have a personal request and I'm really looking into the whites of your eyes, Honorable Minister," Breslavsky told Ben Gvir. "Let me be the one to hang them. I don't want a rope, I want a button. With my own hands, I will execute every terrorist in the State of Israel.".
Minister Ben Gvir replied: "I will change the world for this to happen. I promise you to try and change the world for this to happen. And I hope, it is one of my best dreams to see you there.".
Ben Gvir added, referring to the manner of execution of the sentence: "By the way, it's hanging. The sentence we determined there - to execute it by hanging. And I wish, I wish. You are the right person in the right place so that we can hang and execute them one by one. They don't deserve to live, and you are right.".
The minister later referred to the change in the conditions of detention of security prisoners since he took office, comparing them to the conditions that existed in the past: "Seeing the marmalades and chocolates, the television, the ping-pong and the meat during a prison visit. Everything they had there was crazy. I work for the Prison Service and you hear the stories – we took that one for cosmetic surgery, and that one we put a prosthetic eye on because his eye fell out after he threw a Molotov cocktail.".
"Thank God, today we are in a completely different reality. They are suffering, it's hard for them, it's bad for them - and I'm glad it's bad for them. This is the only thing that can bring some kind of correction and balm to the great pains of you and everyone else.".
