At a conference held at the North African Jewish Heritage House in Jerusalem, Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the left-wing Yashar party, detailed his political doctrine ahead of the elections.

According to a Channel 7 report, Eisenkot claimed that the distribution of 58 seats in favor of what he called the "Zionist factions" versus 52 seats for the Likud bloc and its partners should lead to a change of government.

In his speech, Eisenkot accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of attempting to shape public consciousness as if only obtaining 61 seats would constitute a political decision.

""Netanyahu says, like Hezbollah and like Iran, 'I will win by losing.' If the elections end with 58 seats for the Zionist parties versus 52 for his bloc, he will say there is no government. I say that 58 versus 52 is a clear Zionist majority. His 52 will not set the standard for us.".
