Haifa Airport is experiencing a significant surge in activity, with an impressive increase in the number of passengers and flights and an expansion of flight options for residents of Haifa and the north.
The Airports Authority is currently constructing a new parking lot with approximately 900 parking spaces, on an area of approximately 20 dunams north of the passenger terminal.
In addition, the Airports Authority, in cooperation with the Haifa Municipality, are working together to examine solutions for the benefit of the traveling public, including the possibility of operating a public transportation line from a parking lot in the city of Haifa, directly to the airport, with high frequency.
Until the parking solutions are completed, and out of a desire to reduce congestion, the authority launched an information campaign for area residents and travelers, calling for them to prefer public transportation whenever possible.
""The increase in Haifa Airport activity is significant news for the north, and we are working to assist as much as possible with all the means at our disposal," the Airports Authority said in a statement.
