After the completion of the first phase of upgrading the main traffic artery, Rabbi Akiva: The Bnei Brak Municipality is launching phase two of the project.
In the previous phase, which was carried out from Rabbi Schach Street to Rabbi Kahneman Street, the street's infrastructure was renovated from the ground up, a project that included asphalt layering, sidewalk upgrades, adding traffic islands and installing modern lighting.
Work is now moving to the next section, which will begin from Hazon Ish Street to Kotler Street.
Work on the ground will begin this week, and is expected to be completed by the holiday month.
Out of utmost consideration for the city's vibrant lifestyle, it was decided that most of the activity would take place at night, in order to prevent as much disruption as possible to the area's residents and business owners operating along the route.
As part of the second phase, the street is expected to undergo a thorough and comprehensive facelift. The work will include replacing and renewing the old sidewalks, installing advanced lighting systems, and significantly upgrading all street furniture.
Among other things, the old bus stops will be replaced with new ones and benches and designed benches will be installed, which will give the entire section a modern, accessible and inviting appearance for the benefit of city residents and road users.
