The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Boaz Bismuth, revealed in the first episode of Channel 14's new network program - 'On the Way to the Polls with Dana and Ron', a particularly personal and moving moment from his life.
Bismuth told about the surprising phone call his uncle received from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, just minutes before he underwent complex open-heart surgery.
Bismuth shared candidly about his son, who has undergone two open-heart surgeries and three catheterizations throughout his life, noting that he underwent the first surgery when he was only a three-day-old baby.
He said that years later, just before he underwent the second and more complex surgery, he received a surprising phone call from the Prime Minister who asked to speak directly with the child and strengthen his spirit during the difficult moments.
During the interview, the MK had difficulty hiding his great excitement, as he recalled a conversation that lasted about ten minutes, in which Netanyahu turned to his son and asked to encourage him before entering the operating room.
Presenter Dana Veron noticed tears in Bismuth's eyes and noted the great excitement on the set, while the committee chairman simply replied that this was his son and the treasure of his life.
