There is no peace in the opposition bloc: Former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen, a member of the left-wing Yashar party, was interviewed this morning (Wednesday) and declared that "30% of the Haredi public will receive an exemption from conscription" - in the next government, if the left forms it.
The things caused a stir in the bloc.
Together Chairman Naftali Bennett immediately exclaimed: "With us there will be no compromises on the draft, no exemptions and no 'scheduling'. There will be one simple rule: no Zionists - not at my expense.".
""Everyone is obligated to enlist, and whoever does not serve the country will not receive a shekel from the state for the rest of their lives. We will transfer the tens of billions that the evaders received to those who serve. That's it. This is the only way to save the country, and therefore this is an ironclad condition for the next government.".
""A government that does not recruit Haredim and fix Israel has no right to exist. Together we will fix and recruit everyone.".
Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman also hit back: "In the next government, everyone will serve in the IDF or in civilian service. There will be no exemption for either 30% or 3%.".
""Either a Zionist and national government will be established that will mobilize everyone - Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze and Circassians - or no government will be established at all.".
