A blow to the Tsengauker grape: The chairman of the Democrats, Yair Golan, announced today (Thursday) that he has decided not to use the immunity he has on the party's list for the Knesset.
According to a report on the Ynet website, political sources claim that Tsengauker aspired to receive one of the seats reserved for the Golan Heights. However, recently, members of the list have been exerting heavy pressure on the chairman not to use the seats and not to push candidates who were elected in the primaries out of the Knesset.
Most of the candidates considered, say the list members, do not have electoral value that would upgrade the number of mandates, and therefore it is not justified to use the armor in the situation that has arisen.
Because of this, Golan spoke with Tsengauker and made it clear to her that he would not make any use of the armor, so that she would not be able to run on the list for the next Knesset.
Earlier this year, Tsengauker, the mother of captivity survivor Matan Tsengauker, said that "it is possible to declare that she wanted to go into politics." She emphasized that there were other things that "need to be examined and decided," and said that she had received proposals from everyone - including from the Likud.
